In the spirit of cooperation, the ABCGA is dedicated to minimizing damages caused to Alberta's infrastructure from unauthorized contacts and to promoting safe working environments for all agencies involved in development and construction. The ABCGA's annual Safety Conference showcases a variety of topics related to infrastructure damage prevention. After attending last year's event, Michael Znak of Lamco Gas Co-op made the following comments: "The seminar is an educational and eye opening event, I would recommend it to anyone involved with ground disturbance. It could be a lifesaving experience!" Many ABCGA members will have the opportunity to sponsor booths and share information on underground utility protection that will help attendees maintain safety around underground utilities. The ABCGA is also proud to welcome this year's special guest speaker Spencer Beach, an inspirational survivor who will share his story on the importance of safety.
