*Editor's Note: Welcome to the Week 8 preview of the Sites and Spills Conference, Feb. 19-20, 2014, at the International Centre in Toronto.

Just one month to go until the third annual Sites and Spills Conference in Toronto at the International Centre. It has become one of Canada’s only premiere events to merge HazMat response workshops with the ever-growing remediation sector.

The February 19 – 20, 2014 conference looks back at some of the biggest environmental disasters of 2013, including the Calgary flood and the Lac-Megantic railway disaster. Don’t miss the chance to join the discussion with guest speakers who were front and centre for both tragic events.

Other experts will be on-hand to discuss a broad range of issues from emergency management to the transportation of hazardous goods.

But then there’s the ‘Sites’ part of Sites and Spills, where delegates can delve into the world of environmental consultancy. Over the two days of discussions and presentations, there will be 17 sessions in total. Half of these sessions will explore remediation topics, such as dealing with groundwater contaminated by co-mingled salt and hydrocarbon plumes, enhancing extraction, and treating chlorinated solvents in groundwater.
