A cache of weapons and chemicals discovered at a Connecticut residence has led to a slew of charges against a 69-year-old man, reports the Fairfield Citizen.
On October 1, 2013, hundreds of firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition, explosives and other potentially dangerous chemicals were recovered from the property, allegedly belonging to the senior.
The emergency response to the home by local, state and federal officials shut down part of the lower Greenfield Hill neighborhood, the
Investigation officials would not comment on the types or amount of chemicals found in the home.
Joseph C. Callahan, 69, is charged with 11 counts of illegal possession of explosives, one count of manufacturing bombs and six counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.
Callahan is scheduled to appear October 16, 2013 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
