Tonight, the Discovery Channel is presenting a gala premiere of “The Great Warming” — an in-depth three-part series on global warming — at The Carlu in Toronto, Ontario.

Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette and actor
Keanu Reeves narrate “The Great Warming,” a three-hour special focusing on the environmental and social impacts of climate change. The screening starts at 6:15 p.m. at the gala event sponsored by Environment Canada, Toyota, Swiss Re, Canadian International Development Agency and Ark Angel.

The first show “The Human Fingerprint” makes its world premiere on Discovery Channel Canada on Earth Day – Thursday, April 22 at 8 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT. The other two episodes, “The Age of Uncertainty” and “Our Children’s Planet” air on April 29 and May 7, respectively.

Filmed in eight countries on four continents and endorsed by dozens of the leading scientists, this mini-series presents what is being called the most factually accurate, visually stunning and wide-ranging look at the science, consequences and solutions of climate change.

The Great Warming is produced by Stonehaven Productions in association with Discovery Channel, Canada’s top-rated network for viewer satisfaction. Its entertaining and award-winning programs explore the fascinating worlds of nature, science and technology, and adventure.
