Edmonton-based consulting firm Stantec reports that its gross revenue for Q2 2014 increased 11.8 per cent to $633.8 million over the same quarter in 2013.
The company, which continues to make US acquisitions, says that its Q2 net income increased 22.4 per cent to $44.3 over last year.
Diluted earnings per share increased 20.5 per cent to $0.94 and a quarterly dividend of $0.185 per share was declared.
The company said its positive performance is partly a result of sustained activity in energy and resources, and infrastructure. For the first half of 2014, Stantec’s gross revenue grew by 4.7 per cent.
Stantec acquired four companies in the second quarter: JBR Environmental Consultants, Group Affiliates (SHW), Wiley Engineering, and USKH. The acquisitions added 580 employees to the Stantec roster of 8,400 staff in Canada, and 6,500 in the US.
