The Florida operations of SCS Engineers (SCS) has hired James Getting, PE, as a project director responsible for assisting SCS clients in the southeastern U.S. with their landfill gas management and other solid waste management needs.
Getting was formerly a regional landfill gas (LFG) operations manager for a national solid waste company. He brings more than 30 years of extensive hands-on experience in the landfill gas industry, SCS says.
SCS is an environmental solutions company.
“Jim Getting is a highly respected professional in the LFG industry in the Southeastern U.S., and we are delighted that he has joined SCS,” stated SCS VP and Florida Office Director Ray Dever in a January 2013 statement to media. “The high level of experience and expertise that he offers will serve our clients well.”
Getting was previously responsible for landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) daily operations and regulatory compliance through direct oversight and support of gas field technicians and energy plant operators at multiple landfill sites throughout the southeastern U.S.
Getting also planned the capital budget for GCCS expansion, remediation, and for direction and management of internal and external company resources to implement annual capital expansion and ongoing maintenance of GCCS projects.
Getting earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. He is a registered professional engineer in Florida, Georgia, and Illinois.
