British Columbia’s Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce has announced that David Rogers of BC HAZMAT Management Ltd. is a finalist in its Business Person of the Year award for 2013.
A former fire chief, Rogers is now president of BC HAZMAT Management Ltd., as well as the Senior Safety Trainer and Senior HazMat Incident Commander. He founded BC HAZMAT 13 years ago. It is now Vancouver Islands largest Safety Training Facility.
Rogers is also the director of the BC Environment Industry Association, co-chair of the BC EIA Hazardous Waste Committee, a continuing education instructor at the University of Victoria, a safety instructor with the Vancouver Island Safety Council and executive director of the Tom Thumb dot com Society (Youth Traffic Safety Programs).
The Business Person of the Year event, sponsored by Coast Capital Savings, will see Rogers up against B.C. businessman Kevin Walker of the Oak Bay Beach Hotel.
