2010 Brownfield Summit Series Wraps up in Toronto
Toronto Waterfront Brownfields Breakfast
was a success! Over 170 people attended the Breakfast Summit
which provided detailed information on Toronto’s Waterfront Redevelopment
Project. Keynote speaker, John Campbell, gave a rousing overview of
transitioning massive brownfield sites into solutions for social, economic
and environmental sustainability.

Environment Industry engages with
government
The Ontario Environment Industry
Association (ONEIA) is ramping up its engagement of government on a number
of policies. This includes discussions in several areas, including Record of
Site Condition; Toxic Reference Documents; Soil Contamination and others.
ONEIA's Water Committee recently presented to the Ontario Standing Committee
examining Bill 72 (Water Opportunities Act). This is in addition to the
Association's regular meetings with Ministers and senior staff at the
Ministries of Environment, Economic Development and Trade/Research and
Innovation.

Closures
ERIS service will continue with regular business hours throughout the
holiday season with a few minor interruptions. Please note that our offices
will be closed on the following dates: Friday December 24th, Monday
December 27th and Friday December 31st
Requests for ERIS Database Reports, Insurance Products and Land Title
searches will be available throughout the holiday season. City
Directory and Air Photo services will be subject to a lengthy service
interruption. Final days for ordering before the Christmas Holiday
closure for regular and rush turnaround times are listed below:
City Directories:
7 Day TAT: Wednesday, December 1st, 2010
4 Day Rush: Monday, December 6th, 2010
2 Day Rush: Wednesday, December 8th, 2010
Air Photos -Laser and Digital:
Wednesday December 1st, 2010
City Directory Searches or Air Photos ordered after these dates will be
processed in the order they were received starting on January 3, 2011.

Going West with ERIS: BC

In September, our Research and Development
Manager, Mark Mattei, spent 10 days in BC visiting with clients and
promoting ERIS' new BC specific products and reports.
ERIS' new BC Reports offer information from the Site Registry, plus all
Detail Reports for each record at no additional cost. These reports have
dramatically improved |

the ease with which information is obtained on any Stage 1 or Phase 1
work in BC. Clients expressed positive feedback with this new service and
the opportunity to have face-to-face meetings with Mark. If you would like

What’s New With the
Databases |
|
The
following is a list of updates that have been made to databases pertaining
to Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec in particular:
Please note the following name change to one of our Alberta databases. The
Environmental Information System Listings (EISL) which contains information
from the ERCB on incidents in Alberta has been renamed the Field Inspection
Incident Report (FIS).
Also in Alberta the Fuel Storage Tank database (FST) which contains data
from the PTMAA has been updated and tank information is now current to
September 2010.
In Ontario, the Spills, Borehole and Convictions databases have been
updated. Data is current to June 2010, September 2010 and August 2010
respectively.
Waste Generators, Waste Receivers, PCBs and Water Well information have all
been updated in British Columbia. Generator and PCB data are current to
September 2010, wells are current to August 2010 and 2009 Receiver data is
now available.
With respect to our private source databases, our national Oil and Gas Well
database which is collected from the Nickel’s Energy Group is current to
September 2010.

ERIS Profile: Daniel
Tran, Data Analyst |

Daniel has been the Data Analyst at Ecolog ERIS
since June 2008. He studied Computer Programming and Analysis at Seneca
College where he specialized in Database Development. At ERIS, Daniel is
responsible for maintaining and updating millions of records from over 430
databases that we offer to our customers. He ensures that all records
received from our sources are correct, cleaned, and then loaded into the
system. Aside from |

the data, Daniel provides digital reports to
customers and ensures that all customer and company information is correct, in
order to maximize efficiency for all departments of ERIS. |
